The Experimental Television Center: A History, ETC… Performance Evening with LoVid, Benton C Bainbridge and Phillip Stearns
Benton C Bainbridge and Phillip Stearns present 1:2:1, a live audiovisual performance suite (solo:solo:duet) in which the artists generate realtime imagery and sound using custom hardware. Bainbridge and Stearns have created custom systems, which harness electronic signals to shape and process video and audio signals. Bringing their systems together for the first time, the artists will physically network their rigs to build upon and tear down each other’s “feeds.” Presented on multiple projection channels and loudspeakers, the audience will enjoy rude noises, hard-edged abstractions, and glitchy distortions of live cameras, which simultaneously reveal and obscure their working process.
Performances start at 6:30PM and will be followed by a moderated Q & A session with LoVid (Tali Hinkis and Kyle Lapidus), Benton C Bainbridge and Phillip Stearns, moderated by Sarah Watson, Chief Curator, HCAG
Join us after the event for a BBQ & Wine Reception!
